Earlier this year, Bethza Professional Makeup Artist Studio contacted us wanting to do a stylized shoot with a couple of llamas. At first we were like “Wait…llamas?” and then our second thought was, “YES! Llamas!”
Every bride wants to put their own twist and style to their wedding day and what a better way than incorporating some stunningly gorgeous llamas from Klein Himmel Llamas! They were so fun to work with and they photographed beautifully. Our model, Courtney Kalka-Hager, instantly fell in love with them.
Now, can we talk about the amazing view at Meadow Brook Barn? Just standing outside and looking at the vast amount of land surrounding this stunning barn venue, everything felt so peaceful and serene. It doesn’t matter the time of day or year, weddings at this location feel simply charming.
Established in 1860, this barn held many local community fairs in the early 1900’s connecting family and friends for more than a century! Inside the barn, you will see the magnificent workmanship of how the barn was constructed, the old horse stables in the basement and the beautiful rustic yet modern décor to fit any bride’s dreams.
For this winter inspired shoot, Burns Special Events played with different types of textures with the tablescapes. Wood tables paired with the deep colored velvet linens really created elegant flair. The gold chargers, black plates and cutlery brought in a sense of warmth with this bold color palette.
Yellow Rose Florist created beautiful centerpieces and bouquet for the bride. The different types of greenery and lighter shades of purple really popped against the décor.
If you are looking for a cake that makes a statement, look no further than Sweet-Em’s Cake Shoppe. This four-tier cake with various shades of purple and white looked so exquisite. The attention to detail was much noted.
Paired with the cake was a delightful array of macarons made by KB Macarons. Tying in the colors of this stylized shoot, Kelli Bowser made pistachio, cookies and cream, passionfruit, strawberry rhubarb and raspberry elderflower flavored macarons that looked too beautiful to eat!
The beautiful gown, provided by Elegant Designs, fit the bride like a glove! We loved the long lace sleeves and the open back. It looked so elegant and timeless. This would be a gown that would never go out of style!
Courtney’s pale pink eye shadow and blush created by Bethza felt so airy and fresh. The slightly bolder nude colored lip was the perfect touch to such a simple yet elegant makeup look.
Marissa Lehman from L & M Hair Design put a new twist to the messy updo. Courtney’s hair looked so beautiful in a low updo that really accentuated the neckline and back of the gown. The face framing soft curls in the front were the perfect touch!
We had so much fun doing this stylized shoot but one of the many reasons why it was so enjoyable was working alongside Sarah Sage from Sarah Sage Photography. She is such a breath of fresh air and really makes the bride, groom and bridal party feel like you have been friends with her for a long time! She truly captures each defining moment and is great at photographing the small little details at your wedding!
