With being in the wedding industry, there are many trends and traditions. As creatives, we can feel a little stuck in those trends. Back in October of last year, the idea of a wedding workshop came to mind for me to host. I really wanted to showcase ideas that were a bit more on the nontraditional side and just super fun and creative. I made mood boards for 4 setups: a classy and elegant champagne tower, a groovy setup with disco balls, bright and fun florals and a puffy vintage cake, a classic bride and groom setup to focus on capturing those portraits and a whimsical sweetheart table. We also created a DIY Flatlay station to mix and match accessories and build a setup.
Some of the vendors and I met up at the Allure on the Lake to visualize where to put each station and Natalie with TAOTL mentioned that they’ve always wanted to do a cigar bar. So Spare Room Studio and Painted Willow Designs put together this absolutely stunning display for the cigar bar. I reached out to vendors that I found constantly inspiring me with their beautiful work and was incredibly honored they wanted to participate. I felt like we were an amazing team. I had ideas for how I wanted things to look but also gave them creative freedom and they all created MAGIC; even better than I could have ever dreamed. We had 9 photographers participate and it was so cool to watch each of them photograph and create in their own ways. I can’t wait to potentially host more!
