Welcome to Ashley and Andrew’s amazing Allure on The Lake wedding in Chesterton, Indiana. 

I arrived at The Allure on The Lake a few hours early to get photos of the space. The tables were already set up when I arrived. That always makes my job of getting details easier. The florists from Shadow Box Flower Market in Valparaiso had put most of the flowers out already. Ashley wanted very simple decorations on the tables and the vision was such a good fit for the space. The large windows flood the main reception hall with natural light and complement a minimalist theme perfectly. 

Each table had a unique set of jars and bottles with a touch of color. As a photographer, it’s always fun having so many little details to capture. When Ashley and her bridesmaids arrived we did a few quick photos in the amazing bridal room as they got ready. Several venues in Northwest Indiana have upgraded their bridal suites recently, and The Allure on the Lake has done an exceptional job in their space. 

Ashley and Andrew had a sweet first look in the main reception area before taking a few formal photos. The rustic bar area added to an already photogenic group of people. The ceremony was outside right by the water. It was a warm day but a gentle breeze really helped a lot. 

After the ceremony we had a few minutes to capture some family photos and some more photos of Ashley and Andrew together. I knew in advance I wanted a few photos of Ashley on the rope swing, thankfully she was looking forward to those as well. During the reception we managed to sneak outside for a few night photos. The area by the water is wonderful for cocktail hour as well as night photos. 

I stayed late into the evening to get enough of the crazy fun dancing. I actually love the party time at weddings too! Straight Groovin’ Productions kept the dance floor packed all night and there were several fun dances to capture candids.
