Describe Your Engagement
The engagement was definitely a surprise! Andy proposed at the Journey concert while they played our song, Faithfully. This has been our song since the beginning as well as our first dance song, so it really meant a lot to us. I had no idea Andy was looking at rings or had anything planned. He definitely won the surprise engagement!
Describe Your Wedding Vision
I would say the inspiration for our day was timeless and organic. I wanted a theme that if you were to look back on photos 30 years later it wouldn’t look dated. Out of all the decor, only 3 magnolias were used in my bouquet, everything else was various types of greenery like sword fern, plumosa and bells of Ireland. All over decor was neutral, so the greenery was very important in the overall look. Gold is my favorite color, so you can see it everywhere from the floating frames, the gold splatter on our wedding cake and of course the antique brass candlesticks.
Describe Your Wedding Day
Everything was so perfect on our wedding day! We didn’t run into any unexpected surprises or forget anything important. I think our careful planning and organization helped, as well as our wonderful vendors. The whole day was so beautiful and everything I could’ve wanted and more. To finally see our vision come to life was so fulfilling.
Your Advice to Engaged Couples
My advice for brides would be to plan ahead as much as you can! The day-of timeline is essential in a great flow to the day. Put a lot of thought into this. Also, any DIYs start them NOW. Not waiting until the last minute for DIYs made things less stressful.
