From the Bride’s Perspective

Describe your wedding vision

We both fell in love with our wedding venue the second we saw it, so we wanted our theme to match the woodsy vibe of The Wooded Knot. I love flowers, so I chose a floral dress for my bridesmaids and flower seeds for our wedding favors. We wanted our wedding to feel like a getaway for us and our guests, so that’s how we landed on a venue that was tucked away and hidden by trees. Our hope was to be unique and timeless. We were lucky that our venue offered decorations to us with no extra charge, and coincidentally they were the exact color scheme we had in mind! We fell in love with their wood tables, because it was something we’d never seen before at a wedding venue. It was love at first sight.

Describe your wedding day

The morning was so peaceful. The birds were chirping and the sun was shining. I was the first to arrive, so I was able to take in the venue before the rest of the wedding party came. On my end, the morning went by very smooth. The men had a different experience, but what’s a wedding without a little excitement! The most special aspect of the day, to me, were the one-on-one moments with family and friends, and of course my husband. We shared our vows in private before the ceremony while holding hands. I didn’t know it at the time, but he was very nervous and that moment together calmed his nerves. The ceremony was beautiful and went by so fast! We were blessed to have my dad officiate. I couldn’t have imagined anyone else up there with us. I was very nervous for the reception, because I am not a partier, but it’s hard not to have fun at your own wedding. The night ended with our last dance alone in the venue with Crazier by Taylor Swift playing. It was a magical moment that topped off the whole day.

Your advice to engaged couples

From the time of the proposal to the day of the wedding, the time goes by so fast. Take it all in and enjoy the thousands of questions about how the planning is going and decisions on the smallest of details. It can be overwhelming, but it’s important to remember that you’re a team and patience with each other goes a long way. All of the work you did will pay off on the big day when everything and everyone comes together. As for the wedding day, I think it’s so important to stay by each other’s side as much as possible. I chatted with guests that my husband didn’t get a chance to see and vice versa. The whole day is about you and your partner, after all!
