Describe Your Wedding Vision
Growing up watching Father of the Bride, I always dreamed of a wedding that felt just like it: timeless, personal, and full of heart. Midway through planning, we made the decision to cancel our ballroom and instead host the entire celebration at my parents’ home. That choice changed everything. It finally felt like us. There was something so special about gathering our friends and family in the very place where Maverick and I spent a summer falling in love during college.
We envisioned a preppy, lakeside celebration that embraced the natural beauty of the water and the warmth of early summer. By opening up the house, moving out furniture, and blending indoor and outdoor spaces, we created a setting that felt both intimate and creative. We were married just outside on the porch overlooking the lake, with the home still feeling lived-in and meaningful. With the help of Merry Me, our space came to life through florals, bows, and thoughtful details that elevated, but never replaced, the heart of the home.

Describe Your Wedding Day
Our wedding day was more beautiful than anything I had imagined as a little girl. The morning was spent getting ready at the house, surrounded by our closest friends, which made everything feel calm, joyful, and deeply personal. As guests filled into our living room for the ceremony, there was something incredibly special about knowing each person was part of our story. Walking out the front doors and stepping into that moment is something I’ll never forget.
One of my favorite parts of the day was our cocktail hour on the deck and pool area. With music, drinks, and the lake as our backdrop, it felt like a perfect summer afternoon on the water. As the evening continued, guests moved into our gym space, which Merry Me completely transformed into an unforgettable reception. Dancing the night away surrounded by the people we love most was the perfect ending to such a meaningful day.

Advice to Engaged Couples
My biggest piece of advice is to make sure your wedding is authentically you. It’s so easy to get caught up in trends or comparisons, especially during such an intense planning season. But the most meaningful weddings are the ones that truly reflect the couple at the center of it all.
I would also encourage couples to prioritize their guests. While your wedding day celebrates your covenant , it’s also an opportunity to extend deep, intentional hospitality to the people who have supported you along the way. Think about how you can make each guest feel seen, welcomed, and cared for.
