Sweet-Em’s Cake Shoppe is a cake dream that became a reality. When providence led me to the right place and with a lot of hard work and determination, it has grown into something more than I ever dreamed! At Sweet-Em’s, we love creating custom cakes and desserts for all occasions, especially wedding cakes and everything weddings bring!

What inspires you in your work?

I find inspiration for creating cakes from life and the world around me through my love of the vast subject of the arts and the beauty of nature. Weddings are all about new beginnings and a future full of hope. Getting to create a cake for a couple where I use my inspiration is the best part of my work. Each and every wedding is a new opportunity to design a cake meant just for the special couple and their journey.

Do you have any exciting new options you are offering?

Though dessert buffets have been around a while, they are really catching the attention of brides and grooms lately. I am excited to now be offering this option along with traditional tiered cakes. I especially love that the choices include some of my favorite desserts such as White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake, Luscious Lemon Bars, Chocolate Salted Caramel Cookies, and my own recipe-Maple Glazed Ginger Apple Pie that was 1st runner-up in “Michigan’s Best Apple Pie” contest! You can now have the best of both worlds, cake and pie!

Do you have any advice for couples to help make their
planning go seamlessly?

My best advice for planning your wedding cake is to remember that
communication is the key. Give me as much detail as you can. Help me see your dreams! Bring your vision, your wish list, and your budget. These things will get you started and help me give you answers to your questions including options that may be perfect for you.
