Our wedding vision consisted of being surrounded by all of our loved ones, which included about 300 people. We wouldn’t have had it any other way. Our biggest goal was to look out at all of our guests and soak in the fact that they were all there to celebrate our love. It was the highlight of our night. We wanted a country feel, but not in a barn— so The Wooded Knot was the best vibe for us. We fell in love with all that the venue had to offer. We wanted our wedding to be memorable for years to come and for everyone to dance the night away— and we got just that.

DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING DAY

Our day was PERFECT. Starting with the weather— God blessed us with a sunny and 75 day, which could not have been more beautiful. We were surrounded by our close family and friends and celebrated our forever love. One thing that we will cherish forever is our intimate moments shared throughout the

day— from getting ready with our wedding parties, having our parents put our final touches to our dress and tuxes, and most importantly, us reading our vows privately before the ceremony, Dylan seeing me walk down the aisle for the first time and having our secret last dance. We also loved closing down the venue by dancing our hearts out. It was the best day of our lives.

ADVICE TO ENGAGED COUPLES

My biggest advice for engaged couples would be to just soak in all the small moments. Even when planning the wedding— you only get to do this once. Don’t let the stress of planning the wedding make you lose sight of the reason you are planning it— for your love. Plan the day that you and your fiancé want and enjoy every single moment. Secondly, when the big day is finally here, look out at each of your guests and decorations and soak it in. It’s everything you’ve worked for and it’s SO COOL to see it come to life. Moral of the story— soak it all in.

I always wanted something a little industrial, a little rustic, but very light. I wanted all airy colors like blush and tan to brighten any venue up. I’m obsessed with white roses so those were definitely in our look book.

Our wedding day was nothing short of perfect. Our day was the beginning of June and the weather was spectacular. Everyone was so relaxed and incredibly happy. We will never forget how amazing all of our vendors were and how much we appreciated everything they did for us. We were truly surrounded by all our favorite people in the world and felt the love from each and every one of them.

YOUR ADVICE TO ENGAGED COUPLES

Remember you’re on the same team. Planning a wedding is hard and can be stressful so always remember why you’re planning your wedding. It always helped me put things into perspective!

A Whimsical Romance

The Chapel at The Morris Estate in Southwest Michigan is a charming venue for weddings dating back to 1938. The chapel holds up to 180 people inside and even has bride and groom lounges for you and your wedding party to get ready for your big day. There is even a quaint little schoolhouse that is on The Morris Estate Property that was rescued from demolition and is the perfect backdrop for wedding photos.

With the venue nestled right in front of a beautifully maintained woods, AAYS Event Rentals created the most stunning outdoor tablescape. The hanging rattan lanterns above the tablescape looked incredible. The warm and inviting colors of greens, oranges, peaches and yellows embodied a fall wedding.

Poppies did an amazing job with the floral for this Stylized Shoot. She used peach ranunculus, toffee roses, blush roses, dahlias, peach stock, Phalaenopsis orchids, copper beach, eucalyptus, Queen Anne’s Lace and Sun Palm leaves. The circular arch on the wall behind the altar inside the church was so beautifully made. It added in a pop of color and brought warmth into an all-white space.

Our model, Leighana Burden, looked stunning in a gown provided by Here Comes the Dress. Their new location recently opened in Granger. The loose off the shoulder sleeves are so elegant and feminine. The lace bodice and lace detailed train on the gown is eye catching!

Ilona Warner styled Leighana’s hair in a low side swept ponytail with loose curls and small braids throughout. It created an illusion of carefree sophistication.

Ashley Urban Artistry is the makeup guru! Staying along with the color palette of the shoot, Ashley created a natural looking eye design with beautifully bold lashes and a mauve lip. Leighana’s makeup looked fresh and youthful!

We love working with JB Photography! She is an ultimate pro at capturing the best photos of your big day! She makes you and your bridal party comfortable in front of the camera and creates photos that look natural and not staged.

You can never go wrong with Sweet-Em’s Cake Shoppe. They always do an incredible job creating the cake of your dreams! For this shoot, they made a four-tier all white cake except for the bottom tier which had a marble effect. We loved how intricate the floral design on the middle tiers looked.

Our vision for our wedding day was soft, simple, and elegant. We wanted to use the venue as our main focus for decoration and sprinkle greenery for an added touch! We envisioned having all of our family and friends in one space, under one roof, dancing the night away. We are blessed to say that our vision came to life!

Our wedding day was full of family, friends, love, laughter, and memories. It was a beautiful sunny day surrounded by our most treasured family and friends! Our pastor, Gene Troyer, from RESToR Church had done an exceptional job putting into words what marriage should be.

ADVICE TO ENGAGED COUPLES

The best advice we can give to all of the engaged couples is to do what you want for your special day. As easy as it may be to get all wrapped up in the wedding planning, remember why you are getting married, remember what the important things are. Take time outside of the planning to pray! Soak up all the little moments with your fiancé and family. Doing these few things along the way makes the process so much easier and makes it more fun. We highly recommend getting a videographer, you definitely won’t regret it!

EDEN FLORAL EVENTS

My name is Connie Eden, I am the owner and operator of, Eden Floral Events LLC. I've designed wedding flowers for nine years while also working for florists in the NWI area. It was great fun but I felt it was time to open my own "brick and mortar" wedding florist shop. I am a Certified Indiana Horticulturist and Master Gardener which truly has been the basis of my wedding business. I attended The Chicago Schools of Floral Design with Michael Gaffney.

I started my business, Eden Floral Events, so that I could make my own hours and to have the freedom to design wedding florals the way I knew they should be designed. I wanted to be a help to my customers and a friend when they are in the most exciting yet stressful time of their lives. I like figuring out solutions to problems and in this industry there is no lack! I knew how to create beautiful florals and wanted to have the freedom to do so. My mission is to take the stress out of planning and purchasing wedding flowers.

For Chloe and Lucas Wilson’s wedding ceremony Eden Floral Events wanted to create a light and airy romantic look along with a nest (or grouping) of succulents in the the bridal bouquet. Chloe expressed that her favorite flowers were wild flowers so many of the traditional florals went by the wayside. To achieve this whimsical look we began designing the vision for her bridal bouquets. We gathered a list of flowers, greenery and succulents we would be using.

The flowers and greenery we chose to use to give that airy & romantic look to the bouquets were silver dollar eucalyptus, seeded eucalyptus, gunni eucalyptus, lavender spray roses, lizianthus , stock, wax flower, ranunculus, cosmos, anemone and different varieties of succulents that were sprinkled throughout the bridal bouquets, corsages, boutonnières and centerpieces. As their wedding reception would be held in the summer, their wedding ceremony would be held in the spring as many of the weddings the past few years are currently happening through the pandemic. The amazing photographer who photographed the wedding ceremony was Schylar Miller! She captured the wedding ceremony and created beautiful photos!

A Fairy tale Ending

Friendship Botanic Gardens is a fairy tale dream! We are pretty sure little fairies live in the woods there. This beautifully landscaped garden features at least 10 different wedding venue locations under one location! They include an on-site wedding coordinator, bridal suite and golf carts for guest transportation!

With several themed gardens to choose from, Friendship Botanic Gardens also has pavilions

that provide shade. SheDesigns, Painted Willow Designs and Spare Room Studios all designed this shoot and transformed the pavilion into a fairy tale fantasy.

Incorporating a wooden arch, wooden chairs and including terra cotta colors to the venue was the perfect match for an outdoor wedding surrounded by woods. A candlelit evening wedding is a must for those starry eyes!

Eden Floral Events did exceptional work on the centerpieces for the tables. Having a tall centerpiece makes it easier for your wedding guests to visit one another because they can see each other through the centerpiece, all the while it adds in color and flair!

For this stylized shoot, SheDesigns wanted to incorporate a bounce house provided by Beary Popup Picnics! This all-white bounce house looked stunning with a balloon arch attached, created by Poppin Up The Party. Our flower girl model had the best time! And, not going to lie, our bride and groom may have had just as much fun jumping too!

Want to keep your guests entertained throughout the night? Norman Basile Street Magician is the perfect fit! His magic tricks will wow your guests and keep them guessing on how he performed them.

Our bride, Emily Lasky, looked absolutely stunning in her wedding gown provided by Elegance Wedding and Evening Wear. The sleeves on the dress are removable so you can have two looks in one! The detail on this gown is breathtaking from the beaded bodice to the layers upon layers of tulle skirt.

Emily’s hair was created by Top Knot Bridal. The half up-do looked gorgeous with the loose curls. The ponytail in the back gave off Princess Jasmine vibes and we are all for it! Slightly adding in some floral to her hair was the perfect touch.

Merle Norman did an amazing job on Emily’s makeup adding in slightly smokey eye and bold maroon lip.

The groom, Cormack Bardol, looked rather dapper in a tan tux provided by Elegance Wedding and Evening Wear. They truly are a one stop shop for your clothing attire for the entire wedding party.

How adorable is the flower girl? Atlas Lasky felt like a princess in her dress also provided by Elegance Wedding and Evening Wear!

Designer Desserts creates breathtaking cakes and desserts! Not only do they look amazing but they taste even better somehow. The dark teal color added in the perfect amount of color and the fine gold detail is mesmerizing.

We, ladies, all start planning our weddings at a very early stage in our life. I created my Pinterest board “My Dream Wedding” when I was 16…8 years ago! The themes have changed over the years from Christmas wedding to white and black to lavender to rustic. Rustic is very popular right now, but it was SO worth it. It was absolutely beautiful. Our biggest goal was that it felt like home, simple, but elegant, and it to be cozy and comfortable for everyone. Most of all, we learned it is not really about the table settings or the party favors, but that we had each other and were surrounded by love and support to start our new lives on an absolute high.

DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING DAY

Our wedding day could not have been better. It was beautiful, simple, and romantic. We were surrounded by so much love and support from family and friends from all over. We are so blessed and grateful to have had so many people come to celebrate with us. From the ceremony at the church showing how important our faith is to us and our relationship, to the reception and showing the importance

of our relationships with our family and friends. The whole day included little details that spoke from us and who we are and perfectly represented us as a couple. We could not be happier with how smoothly and beautifully the day turned out and will remember it forever with grateful and full hearts.

YOUR ADVICE TO ENGAGED COUPLES

Our advice to engaged couples is to always make sure the other is heard in this process. The saying is that it is always about what the one person in the relationship wants (bride), but it is about the other person, too. It makes the other person feel special when you ask them for their opinion and do something they specifically would like to see. Engagement is a whole new level of a growing opportunity. You learn more about each other with certain things and it is so fun to plan something so special with your best friend. Another big thing to remember is to have fun with it and do not let others opinions change what you as a couple is wanting. Sometimes you need a mental break from wedding brain – make sure to take those opportunities so you don’t burn out!
