Katherine Murray Photography: There wasn’t anything extremely unique about Jen and Keith’s wedding, but it was absolutely a reflection of the two of them and who they are as a couple. Jen even made Keith’s favorite cookies for the dessert table herself. For that reason alone, it made their wedding stand-out in my mind. They invited me and my team to be present nearly the entire day, which created a complete visual story of their wedding day. As a storytelling photographer, this was such a treat. It was wonderful to be able to watch the Groom and his groomsmen and immediate family goofing-off while getting dressed as well as the Bride and her friends and family chatting and enjoying themselves, sometimes nervously, at the salon before they even put their dresses on. Unlike many of my weddings, they didn’t really want us to spend a lot of time with the bridal party traveling around town taking photos here and there. In fact, I had to convince Jen and Keith to sneak out of the reception for a few minutes to take some of the two of them alone. That’s not to say that photographing the details they spent so many months planning wasn’t important, they just left that up to me to take care of. They trusted us to capture the candid moments of the day without a lot of fuss, which in turn, allowed myself and my team the freedom to capture how the day unfolded. While this approach isn’t the right fit for everyone, it was most definitely what suited these two and why their wedding was so special.
