The very moment I walked into the Briar Ridge Country Club (which doubled as both the “getting ready” location and the reception location!) I felt a sense of family. I made my way through the ballroom area and noticed Laura’s mom arranging things on a table and others getting things ready for the celebration to follow a long awaited ceremony. Upon reaching the Bridal Prep area, I immediately noticed a sense of peace. It was quiet, calm, and simply peaceful.
This day had been long awaited! Laura & Kurt met in their freshman year of high school and begin a romance just a year later that would last all the way through to this day. The day they would become a team for life!
The decor was beautiful and followed along with the Enchanted Forest theme. But what was so beautiful to observe was the strong emphasis on family. Laura’s grandmother made her wedding cake, her mama helped and spent lots of hours making all the centerpieces and seating arrangement cards, even their vintage pick up truck was loaned to them from Kurt’s dad! There was such an overall feeling of family legacy throughout the whole day. Kurt comes from a large family with 7 kids! (He is the baby and the last to get married!) and everyone was involved and so full of JOY!
Kurt & Laura…I left feeling as though I was part of your family! You are both so loved by everyone around you and it was a joy to experience that and be a small part of telling your story!
I have wrote and spoken it about this many times…but I LOVE when my couples do a “First Look”! A First Look made it so we got all the photos done before the ceremony and Laura & Kurt got to see and spend more time with each other throughout the day! It also made sure that we got plenty of time for portraits and bridal party photos!
