Moroccan Nights

Having a wedding in Michiana doesn’t always mean your typical rustic barn weddings! When Polly McCarthy, owner of Poppies, envisioned a Moroccan themed wedding at Amish Acres, we were immediately intrigued. Bold colors and peacock feathers inside an old antique barn? Yes, she made it happen! And, quite frankly, outdid herself!

Our beautiful bride, Brittanie Richie, looked absolutely stunning in an all lace gown with draped sleeves provided by Blushing Bride on 17. Her long train had lace trimmings around the edge which really gave that Moroccan feel. Brittanie’s bold makeup done by Ashley Troxel was exquisite! The pink, teal and copper shadows really made her eyes pop! Marissa Lehman from L & M Hair Design created a side-swept loose braid to really showcase the back of the gown.

Poppies created a spicy Moroccan inspired look using protea, raspberry spray roses, blue thistle, crespedia, celosia, calcinea, blush roses, ferns, Italian ruscus, silver dollar eucalyptus and peacock feathers in honor of the local peacocks and hosta leaves.

The head table designed and created by Poppies and Burn’s Rent-All’s included a velvet tablecloth, adding texture, and rose gold and marbled dishes. The etched stemware was the perfect touch to the tablescape. The hanging floral arrangement added the “wow” factor when walking into the room! Lanterns and sequin throw pillows gave that relaxing and inviting vibe.

Amish Acres has so much more to offer than The Round Barn Theatre. Their grounds include a two story barn, a pond and acres of land perfect to host your wedding ceremony and reception. Plus, much more! The images your photographer can shoot are endless with opportunities and that is exactly what Nicole from Impulse Imagery did!

Impulse Imagery captured every single detail that was included in this stylized shoot, right down to the peacock roaming the premises at Amish Acres! Talk about a photo-op!

Sweet-Em’s Cake Shoppe went above and beyond and completely exemplified the Moroccan theme with their three tiered cake. The gold accent décor really popped against the dark maroon and blush pink. The small intricate details really shows Sweet-Em’s artistry.

We absolutely loved this stylized shoot and we hope you are inspired to think outside of the box! Happy Planning!
