5 Helpful Tips to Make Your Wedding Dress Shopping The Best Ever

Elegant Designs – Noraima Chavez

Whether it has been 2 months or 10 years, the man you have been sharing your life with just proposed and you could not be happier. It is the time you have been waiting for to plan your wedding and most excitingly yet, find your dress! Because yes, finding your wedding dress should be exciting. This is the time you get to choose and try on what you are envisioning for this day. It should be fun and it should be a good experience. Here are a few tips to ensure your dress shopping experience is just that, a fun, good and exciting experience.

Time

Wedding styles and trends change often. Most designers will have their new collection out twice a year. A good time to start looking for a dress will be 12 (to-no less than) – 6 months. Picking your dress too far in advance might mean changing your mind about the dress once you bought it. But waiting to the last minute could mean that your dream dress will not arrive on time for your wedding.

Budget

The prices for wedding dresses might vary in a very wide range, from the low hundreds to tens of thousands or more. The price tag of your dress should not be the most important part of your dress. However, knowing what you will be able to afford will make your shopping experience a lot more enjoyable for you. This will eliminate trying on several dresses, taking time and the excitement out of your experience. If you find that the dress you absolutely loved is way out of your budget range, it will make the experience very disappointing, possibly turning you away from looking anymore for a while.

Have Ideas but Be Open Minded

In the time of the internet, we have thousands of options to look at for wedding dresses. Going to the bridal store with a mind set on a specific dress style might cheat you out of finding the dress that will be perfect for you. Let the bridal assistants help you with options of the things that are important to you in a dress.

Try on Styles Not Just Dresses

Going to the bridal shop looking for one specific style of dress might not have the best results. If you like mermaid dresses definitely try that style on, but if it’s not the dress, try a different style instead of trying on 5 more mermaid dresses. More times than not, finding the perfect wedding dress will be easier when you see how the styles look and feel on your body.

Bridal Party

Having a large group of friends and family is definitely a great thing. If you take your family and friends to make a decision about your dress it is because you can trust them. The thing about having too many people making a decision about your dress is that they all have a different vision of you, and they all have different taste and styles of their own. Sometimes you might fall in love with a dress, and some of your friends might love it, while others not so much. But it’s not that they don’t like you in the dress, just that they had pictured something different. But going dress shopping by yourself is not for everyone either. So have the closest people to you, the ones you can trust to help you make a decision, but most importantly the ones who will make sure it is YOU who loves your dress. At the end of the day, everyone will love how you look on your wedding day.

Ps. Last quick tip, make sure you are not hungry, before or during the time you are shopping. Bring easy clean snacks 🙂
