I wanted it to be private and personal. On a day when we were leaving to spend the day downtown, a feeling rushed over me to propose. I knew she would predict if something was planned, so before we left for the day, I popped the question. Katie was completely surprised and excited. Later that evening, we walked the circle in Indy and enjoyed a romantic dinner for two. It was perfect! 

Describe Your Wedding Vision 

Elegant, romantic, rustic and classic with natural accents. Our historic venue was absolutely stunning. It was a loft style building with great natural light and soft white curtains/ drapery and Christmas lights. The original hardwood flooring added a timeless touch. The whitewashed brick and exposed beams in addition to the other aspects of the room made for a comfortable, welcoming and beautiful space. 

Describe Your Wedding Day 

It went by so fast but in the best way. It really couldn’t have been a more perfect day! It was so special to have people there supporting us from all stages of our lives. It was truly the best day and we couldn’t have asked for a better start to our marriage. Everything really came together to be exactly how we envisioned. 

Your Advice to Engaged Couples 

Wedding planning advice: Highly recommend using the knot for your wedding website because it will sync with your amazon registry and you can add cash funds all in one place. Allocate a good part of your budget for a great photographer! Your vendors matter- make sure you do your research. A DJ is crucial for the timing of the reception depending on how you envision your evening. 

General engagement advice: Enjoy the process and know that whatever decision you make, if it is what you want, it can’t be wrong! Take time to celebrate the milestones in the planning process. ENJOY EVERY MINUTE OF THE BIG. DAY- it goes by SO fast!
